My first time reviewing and cooking a proper meal using all KANIKA frozen food. I’m totally amazed and excited to share with all my readers how I prepare all the frozen food from KANIKA. Please read on to know more.๐Ÿ‘

 HSH Frozen Foods Sdn Bhd was established in 1991. In 1996, the “Kanika” brand is created and has become a leading brand in innovative food products.  KANIKA is a Malaysian Japanese frozen seafood, fish, and food supplier. With over 1000 types of frozen seafood they supplied to hotels, supermarkets, restaurants and chained premium retail. Each of the products is being pick, select and import from more than 20 countries to Malaysia. 

Today I will prepare a delicious Japanese Meal with all the frozen food from KANIKA. Basically, I just need to spend some time cooking the Udon noodle and deep-fried the Breaded Scallop. For the rest of the Chuka items, we can defrost for 30 minutes and consume them directly. All of the food preparation is definitely save time and easy to prepare! With the busy lifestyle that we have, I will always prefer to cook and prepare meals in a short amount of time.



KANIKA FRESH UDON MEE is a variation of Udon Mee selected by Kanika that is kept fresh instead of frozen and it has a great texture that promises premium quality and taste. 

Udon is a type of thick, wheat-flour noodle used frequently in Japanese cuisine. It is often served as a noodle soup in its simplest form, as kake udon, in a mildly flavored broth called kakejiru, made of dashi, soy sauce, and mirin. It is usually topped with thinly chopped scallions.

How to cook
  1. Fill the pot with a bowl of water
  2. You can cook as stir fry or soup
  3. Put the soup paste and KANIKA Fresh Udon Mee next
  4. Cook for 5 - 10 minutes
  5. Time to serve it!


I personally really like the noodle texture which is still so nice even after a while. Udon dish preparation is really easy as you can cook it stir fry or soup base. Of course, this kind of soup preparation will be much quicker if you don’t have time to cook it. 



This KANIKA SESAME SALAD DRESSING dressing featuring healthy sesame oil, ginger, and other Asian-style spices will provide you with a tasty break to mix up your healthy salad dressing routine. This one could also be used to flavor steamed veggies or marinate fish excellent sources of nutrition on any diet. Great for Salads, Cold Pasta, Veggie Dip, Slaw Mix or even Chips!

KANIKA IMITATION BREADED SCALLOP is a variation of a crispy product that is selected by Kanika due to its great texture and wonderful taste that speaks premium for itself. The breaded scallop is a delicious snack that has a mild taste and chewy texture. 

Deep frying is an excellent way to cook scallops, once done, lightly squeeze with lemon to juice up the taste of the mild sweet scallops. Pair the dish with tar sauce or mayonnaise for a flavorful snack. This product is a surimi product that is made to imitate the taste of the scallop.


How to cook

  1. Make sure your cooking pot is dry
  2. Pour the cooking oil, just enough or a little more for  the Breaded Scallop
  3. After the cooking oil is hot enough, time to deep-fried all the KANIKA Imitation Breaded Scallop.
  4. Deep-fried all 12 Breaded Scallop and wait for them to turn to dark golden color.
  5. Time to serve after it is done. 


This is also one easy meal to prepare. The deep-fried process is very fast and easy. It tastes so delicious and I serve it with Japanese Rice as my main meal. Of course, don’t forget to dip into KANIKA Sesame Salad Dressing and eat it! My husband say that this KANIKA Imitation Breaded Scallop taste delicious and crunchy when he tried it. I’m glad that my husband also approves of my cooking with KANIKA.



Chuka Kurage, Certain species of jellyfish are not only safe to eat but also a good source of several nutrients, including protein, antioxidants, and minerals like selenium and choline. The collagen found in jellyfish may also contribute to health benefits like reduced blood pressure.

Chuka Wakame Seaweed. Chuka means "China" in Japanese. This refers to the flavors and ingredients added to the product; sesame oil, soy sauce, chili peppers, and sesame seeds. Wakame has an olive green color. It is one of the healthiest nutrient sources in the world.



How to prepare

  1. Defrost both the KANIKA Chuka Karage and Chuka Wakame for 30 minutes.
  2. Directly consume after 
  3. You can serve it as sushi or salad dish ✌๐Ÿป


Since I prefer to consume both of these Chuka dishes as a salad. I serve it as a salad dish. When I’m at a sushi restaurant I always love to order Chuka items, can’t believe now I can purchase them from KANIKA and can prepare it so easily!! Now I can enjoy it at home too. I love how fresh KANIKA Chuka Frozen items, taste so good even just consume them directly.

Chuka Hotate is also known as Seasoned Scallop Wings. Hotate scallops have beautifully soft and sweet meat and an incredibly delicate texture. The best hotate comes from cold waters, which is why our hotate is caught in Hokkaido. In Japan, it is very common to eat hotate raw in the form of sushi or sashimi. However, these scallops are also sublime when grilled or baked.

Seasoned Baby Octopus / Chuka Idako. One of the most popular Otsumami (snack/appetizer), Chuka Idako is also popular as a side dish in takoyaki, bentos, or sushi! Easy and convenient, all you need to do is thaw and serve.

How to prepare

  1. Defrost both the KANIKA Chuka Hotate and Chuka Idaho for 30 minutes.
  2. Directly consume straight away.
  3. Serve it as sushi or salad dish.


I can't believe that the baby octopus is so delicious, fresh, and big when I first see it from the frozen packaging itself. I really enjoy all of the KANIKA Chuka Frozen food, because it is really fresh and yummy to consume. I definitely will repurchase it again, because it is so convenient to prepare and enjoy it.


Overall I really love all KANIKA frozen food that makes me love cooking because it is so easy and convenient. It helps me save a lot of time, but at the same time, I can enjoy delicious sushi dishes at home!
