4 Days 3 Night Hatyai - Train Trip from Malaysia to Hatyai

Finally here to blog about my trip to Hatyai from last year. This is my first time taking a train to Hatyai. I enjoyed this trip with my friend and have wanted to blog about it. Follow me on the ETS train for this 4-day, 3-night trip to Hatyai from KL Sentral.

Day 1

We bought the train ticket one month ago. We choose morning time and reach Padang Besar station around 1pm. You can book the ETS train ticket via the KTMB app. You choose the station destination until Padang Besar station.

You can order food in the train. You can order it, and they will heat up the food for you. We order some food for lunch. Some of the train scenery that you will see along the way.

After reaching Padang Besar train station, there's a van booth for you to book the van trip from Padang Besar to Hatyai. You can keep this van ticket until the last day because when you travel back to Padang Besar you will need to make reservation for them to fetch you as well.

They drop off us at our Hatyai Hotel which is Casa 33. Since this is our first time here at Hatyai, we chose a really nice and pretty aesthetic hotel during our Hatyai stay. Definitely worth every penny of our stay here!

We really like the swimming pool but too bad we don't have much time for swimming. We did take some outfit photos around the hotel because of how pretty the hotel is. You can check out more details of my review of Casa 33 Hotel via the link here.

Lunch

After checking in at the hotel, we were really hungry and decided to have some yummy food. We go to this restaurant which is famous for their crab dish. We really did enjoy the food here and the food portion was really huge too for just 2 of us.

After our late lunch, we go for a leg and back massage at Baan Iyara Massage & Cafe. The service is quite good and from the store outside it just feels much more professional and comfortable.

Dinner

For our dinner, we went to Lee Garden Night Market to hunt for some yummy street food. This pork Siew York is so delicious!

Our dinner of the day. We also found another stall selling pork organ which we also order and eat together!

Besides all the heavy, oily food we had, we also ordered some dessert from the stall by the road. This is where we can sit down and enjoy our food at Lee Garden Night Market.

Day 2

On Day 2, we decided to grab a cup of coffee just below our hotel where there is an in-house cafe - Double 3 Cafe as well. Guests can enjoy some breakfast and coffee here.

Breakfast

For breakfast, we straight head to Chen Long Noodle. I prefer the soupy style, it is appetizing and nice to eat. This noodle business has been here for generations too as well.

After breakfast, we decided to have some desserts nearby which is at Burapha Bird Nest.

We went nearby for some bird's nest, which is famous in this area. This is my first time having a bird's nest in a restaurant like this. The bird's nest can be quite sweet and is suitable for people who have a sweet tooth.

After a filling stomach with all the food we had, we went to Central Hatyai for shopping.

Some of the shops we visit are in Central Hatyai. This mall is quite large, and you can easily shop here for a few hours. The main shops we visit are Nineties Design, Gentlewoman, and the stores that sell everything for 10 baht. We also had McDonald's for a quick lunch since we were still in the mall.

For Tea Break, we are here at Cheevit Cheeva is one of the famous desserts that must be eaten at Hatyai. For more info can refer to my previous blog link here.

For night activities, we went to Greenway Night Market.

There are also a lot of clothes to shop for here. We didn't shop a lot but this night market is quite huge with different sections to shop at and can be quite confusing. You can spend some time shopping around the market with different sections of the night market.

One of the must-do things in Greenway Night Market is doing nails here at the night market. There are so many stalls here where you can choose which stall to do. You can choose your favorite nail design and show them. The way they did the nail was also quite fast and in detail. Not only that the price of a nail do is also quite affordable!

Dinner

After shopping and getting our nails done, we decided to stay for dinner. They have a large food section where you can order and eat. We ordered Pad Thai, dry pork noodles, and some skewers. You can purchase a food card to top up and then pay for the food you ordered at the Greenway Night Market.

Day 3

Breakfast

Day 3 we head to Chokdee Dim Sum for breakfast. They served really fresh dim sum and mainly they served a lot of steam dim sum and hardly in fried form.

Next, we continue our shopping trip at Makro. 

You can shop for a wide range of wholesale items here, including food and daily supplies. The main items we purchase are snacks, instant noodles, and sanitary towels. Since Makro is located close to Central Hatyai, it’s a good idea to plan your visit on the same day.

Lunch

After shopping at Makro, we head to a cafe for lunch. We really like this cafe and it really out of our expectation. This cafe is a bit further than the town area but this cafe is really worth the visit!

Dinner

For our day 3 dinner, we decided to go a proper Thai food, where we randomly search and found this Somtamchaba.

All the yummy Thai food that we order and have at Somtamchaba, we really love all the dishes we order. The price is also very affordable with a proper and delicious Thai Food here at Hatyai.

Bar

After dinner, we decided to visit a bar which is Villa Vanilla. It is located in a place that is quite hidden and you don't realize that the area actually has a bar as well.

We each order our own cocktail and drink. This bar is quite dark and mysterious. But the ambient here is quite comfy and we did enjoy our time here. There's also live band performance where we enjoy our drinks and the music here at Villa Vanilla.

Day 4

Breakfast

On our last day here we managed to find a breakfast spot, Jok Songkhla which is near our hotel where we walked for 5 minutes. The porridge is really very filling and comes in egg and meat minced. We really enjoy the breakfast here.

After breakfast, we waited for the van from Pen Leisure that we had booked via WhatsApp. We chose the morning slot and arrived early at the train station. We decided to get there ahead of time to avoid the crowds at customer clearance, and fortunately, our travel time to Hat Yai fell during a less crowded period.
